What bars fit a Breakout?
Three Steel Guru bars fit the Breakout, 114 and 117: the Steel Lowline, the Steel Viper and the Steel Fifty X. Each one is welded to your exact year so the geometry is right for the bike rather than a generic template.
Can I put taller bars on a Breakout?
Yes: the Steel Viper and the Steel Fifty X both go up to 16 inches of rise on a Breakout. Each bar is welded to your exact year so the fit lands cleanly on the bike. For a true ape hanger, use the Design Your Own configurator.
What are the lowest bars for a Breakout?
The Steel Lowline sits at the bottom end of the range with a low drag profile, and it is built to the year you specify so the fit is clean off the bench.
Drag bars or ape hangers on a Breakout?
The Breakout leaves the factory with a low, wide drag-style bar, and you can keep that line or go taller. To stay low, the Steel Lowline gives a drag-bar stance with 5 to 10 inches of rise. For more height, the Steel Fifty X and the Steel Viper go up to 16 inches. None of our off-the-shelf ape hangers fits the Breakout, so for a true ape, or a flat drag bar built to your own numbers, use the Design Your Own configurator and we confirm the fit against your year before the bar is welded. Taller bars can need a longer clutch cable, brake line or wiring, and we tell you at order time what your year needs.
Does it matter if my Breakout has a cable or hydraulic clutch?
Only in that the bar has to match it: you pick cable or hydraulic clutch on the bar's product page when you order (for a Design Your Own bar, note it in the box for the workshop), and we build the clutch end of the bar to suit. To check yours, a cable clutch has a cable sheath and threaded adjuster leaving the lever, while a hydraulic clutch has a fluid reservoir or master cylinder beside the lever.
