Steel Guru builds custom handlebars for the Harley-Davidson Road Glide. The Steel Viper z-bar fits every Road Glide from 2004 to 2025 and the Steel Demon ape hanger fits 2004 to 2024, while 2025 Road Glides also take the Steel Fifty X h-bar. The Road Glide fairing is mounted to the frame, not the forks, so the bar turns behind it rather than carrying it. Each bar is hand-welded from 3 mm S235 steel to your exact model year. Do ape hangers work with the Road Glide fairing?
Yes. The Road Glide fairing is mounted to the frame, not the handlebars, so the bar turns behind it instead of carrying it. What a taller bar changes is your reach and the length of your clutch, throttle and brake lines, so Steel Guru confirms the cable requirements for the year you specify at order time.
Are tall handlebars road-legal in the EU?
Rules on handlebar height and width vary by country across the EU, and our bars are not type-approved, so checking the rules in your registration country before fitting is your responsibility as the buyer. We build to the dimensions you order, and if you tell us where the bike is registered we can flag anything that looks out of the ordinary.
